Château Ausone

Château Ausone held Premier Grand Cru Classé A status in Saint-Émilion until it withdrew from the classification in 2021, and is named after the Roman poet Ausonius. The small vineyard on the limestone slopes at the edge of the town is planted with Cabernet Franc and Merlot. Production is small, which makes the wine rare.
